Australia won women's world cup 2018
The 6th edition of women's wold t-20 world cup ended on 24th November 2018. Australia won the world cup by 8 wickets with 5 overs to be spare. This is the 4th world cup title for Australian women and they really deserved to win this as they played in final. They were looking favourites from the start of the world cup.
The difference between Australia - England and other teams is that Australia and England played nearly 400 t-20 games and have a well organized domesticT20 competitions in their backyard and together. As compare to Australia-England only South Africa is the only team who stand next and played 200 ODI games.
!16 days 23 games one winner! That was the women's world cup are all about. 10 teams participated in this tournament which ends with one winner. This tournament started with the game of India and Newzeland which Which India won by 34 runs. Apart from Australia & England, India & West India also played very good cricket. Both teams beat Australia and England (Both Finalist) in their group but in the semi-final, Australia and England beat both (India and West Indies) again. At last in the final match, A better team won and Australia did it record 4th times and become the champion in 2018.
Meg Lanning, winning skipper: We probably didn't have our best day in the field. It was great. Wareham was great with the direct hit and her control with the ball was excellent. I thought it was pad first and I called for it (about the review). We obviously didn't have the success we would have liked in the last couple of years. I think this is a very satisfying win. We knew we could change a few things and we are a very calm group and I think we showed that tonight. The girls have been outstanding and the support staff has been excellent. I also want to thank the Aussie crew here. My mum and dad's here, can't be happier. The last couple of World Cups haven't gone our way and this is really satisfying
Heather Knight, losing skipper: I thought it was a much better pitch than the semi-final. It skidded on a lot more. Dani started really well. We just lost wickets at the key time and we lost momentum and we didn't put a competitive total on the board. We thought there will be bit of dew but it skidded on more than what we anticipated. We didn't probably adapt to the conditions as good as we could have. Really proud of the girls for reaching the final. Australia were a better team than us today, congratulations to them. In terms of average and the wickets we've lost we surely didn't get it right. We came with some inexperience and the girls stepped up beautifully. Really great experience for the girls and the fans have been amazing. They are still singing and dancing, they've been our source of support. We got massive Ashes series to look forward to.
Fair to say that, England was never in this match. Apart from Danielle Wyatt and Captain Heather Knight, None of their batsmen touches double digit. On the other hand, Australian bowlers were very good and restrict England at 105/10. Which was very easy for Australia to get. Not only in final but Australia played very well and lost only one group stage match against India. But apart from that, they were very balanced and very good in the whole tournament.
ENGW 105 (19.4 Ovs)
AUSW 106/2 (15.1 Ovs)
So, Australia Become the world t-20 champion of 2018. They are happy and deserve to win as per their game and dedication in this tournament. All their player played like a team and Both the leading wicket-taker and leading run scorer was from Australia. Alyssa Healy was the leading run scorer and Megan Schutt was the Leading Wicket-taker of t-20world cup 2018.
