Prime Minister Narendra Modi is ready to unveil the world’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Kevadiya in Gujarat, at a gala function on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary on Wednesday, 31st October 2018.
This is truly an engineering marvel i.e. is built in a record time of 33 months, the Statue of Unity. The foundation stone for the project was laid on 31st October 2013.
This will be the World's Tallest Statue standing at 182m, i.e. almost double the Height of Statue of Liberty. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel mostly known as Sardar Patel was the first deputy prime minister of India.
A deputy prime minister simply holds the key cabinet portfolio such as home minister and finance minister. Sardar Patel term in office was from 15 August 1947 to 15 December 1950. He was also the biggest freedom fighter and played a very important role in India's freedom.

Statue of Unity: Global Landmark
Built at a cost of around Rs 2900 crore, the Statue of Unity project is made of bronze cladding which is a fragment of the mammoth work, has been done indigenously, by country's one of the best company L&T.
The statue is conceived as a naturalistic depiction of Sardar Patel in characteristic garb in a walking pose and it rises out of a star-shaped, geometric base that covers the entire Sadhu Hill.
On this occasion, PM Modi quoted that - The Statue will stand high, not just in meters and feet, but much more in terms of academic, historical, national and spiritual values. My vision is to develop the place as a source of inspiration for ages to come.
Key Achievements and important points --
It is created in a record-breaking 33 months of duration while China’s Spring Temple Buddha took 11 years to complete. Isn't that amazing.?
Statue of Unity: Global Landmark
Sculptor Ram V. Sutar who designed this statue also ensured that this statue’s face resembles Patel’s facial features. For this around 2,000 photographs of IronMan of India, were studied.
This statue is built using 180,000 cup m of cement concrete, 6,500 tonnes of structured steel, 1700 tonnes of bronze, 1,850 tonnes of bronze cladding and 18,500 tonnes of reinforced steel.
The statue can withstand wind speed up to 180 km per hour and earthquakes measuring up to 6.5 on the Richter Scale.
The statue has a Lavish Hotel, Visual Gallery, a well sound ecosystem, museum and high-speed lifts for the tourists to visit and enjoy this place while the lifts will carry them up to the chest of the statue for a pleasing view.
What’s more, you can even take a boat ride to reach here.
This seems to be the next destination spot where tourists will visit and enjoy the architecture and warmth of this place and enjoy the green lush ecosystem with the modern art. This will, in turn, generate more income and give employment to a lot of people in and around the city.
Keeping all Politics aside let’s just cherish this moment as history is in the making and India is proud to show this engineering marvel of the Real Ironman of India and opening its door for the entire world to visit this place.
